APS Level 5 & 6 - Policy and Program Officers, Project Managers, Data Analysts (Several Positions)

We are looking for highly motivated people at the APS Level 5 & 6 who are passionate about delivering improvements to aged care by driving local responses to the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. We work closely with the department's aged care network, made up of local staff who provide place-based delivery of the core practices of stewardship across the aged care sector: building trusted relationships; gathering, analysing, and sharing intelligence, especially from local voices; solutions brokering and problem solving; and capacity, capability-building and awareness raising. The Network Strategy and Operations (NSO) Branch is responsible for establishing and expanding the stewardship of aged care model to support the successful implementation of aged care reforms and embed 'stewardship' as a core component of the department's aged care policies. Successful applicants at both APS 5 and APS 6 Levels will bring an enthusiasm and aptitude for policy development and interpretation, delivery of projects and program outcomes. They will have strong communication and engagement skills, with the ability to work in a fast paced, evolving, and collaborative environment. Successful APS Level 6 applicants will also be expected to demonstrate leadership, stakeholder management, and project management skills. The key duties of the position include APS Level 6 • Support the Network Strategy and Operations (NSO) Branch and the department's aged care network to implement, embed and strengthen stewardship of aged care through development and coordination of a variety of programs and initiatives. • Engage, communicate, and collaborate with key stakeholders across and beyond the department. • Contribute to the development and management of team objectives, work plans and strategic planning in line with branch, aged care, and wider agency objectives. • Prepare and collaborate on policy papers, briefs, agenda papers, ministerial correspondence, and questions on notice. • Undertake secretariat, reporting, coordination, procurement, and administrative duties. • Undertake research and provide sound, evidence-based analysis, and advice on relevant topics. • Mentor and direct as applicable the work of other team members to contribute to a high performing and positive culture. In addition, for the Data and Systems Section: • Contribute to the development of data and system solutions including maintenance of existing tools and developing new fit-for-purpose solutions to complex data problems. • Support the improvement of staff digital capability and literacy with clear outputs and deliverables. • Contribute to the design and delivery of end user training to uplift user capability and facilitate ongoing verbal and written communication. APS Level 5 • Support the Network Strategy and Operations (NSO) Branch and the department's aged care network to implement, embed and strengthen stewardship of aged care through development and coordination of a variety of programs and initiatives. • Engage, communicate, and collaborate with key stakeholders across the department. • Develop plans for short-term tasks and contribute to work plans and strategic planning in line with branch objectives. • Assist with drafting policy papers, briefs, agenda papers, ministerial correspondence, and questions on notice. • Assist with secretariat, reporting, coordination, and administrative duties. • Undertake research and provide sound, evidence-based analysis, and advice on relevant topics. In addition, for the Data and Systems Section: • Contribute to the development of data and system solutions including maintenance of existing tools and developing new fit-for-purpose solutions to complex data problems. • Support the improvement of staff digital capability and literacy with clear outputs and deliverables. • Contribute to the design and delivery of end user training to uplift user capability and facilitate ongoing verbal and written communication.
