The Role: In the role of Communications Support Officer, you will provide professional, efficient, and effective communications support that assists the communications team, district, and region to achieve its outcomes and priorities. This role primarily focuses on the development of communications materials for projects across the Wide Bay Burnett District identified with our client. This role is based in Bundaberg, with the option to work remotely. Key Accountabilities: Provide administrative and logistical support to the Wide Bay Burnett District communications team Develop and maintain office support systems including the use of databases and spreadsheets Coordinate, develop, prepare, edit and publish project information materials and reports as directed. Assist in the development and implementation of communication and community engagement plans and strategies Prepare draft correspondence to internal and external stakeholders Develop and maintain ongoing positive relationships and networks with industry, stakeholders, community, internal and external clients. Role Capabilities: Acts Proactively - works flexibly without supervision (ie effectively manages new and unexpected events, and demonstrates judgement about when to escalate issues) Focuses on Customers - actively works to understand customers and stakeholders Focuses on Performance - sets priorities and organises self to meet deadlines and reports progress on any potential delays or issues which may impact on others Manages Internal and External Relationships - Written and verbal communication is clear and concise; works collaboratively with others Desirable Requirements: A degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing would be highly regarded. Working history in this area is highly favourable. Experience in strategic communication or community engagement will also be highly regarded Current C class drivers licence Only shortlisted candidates will be notified
