We have an exciting & flexible opportunity for a Governance & Risk Officer. The successful candidate may either work onsite in Condobolin or from the offices of Penrith City Council with quarterly visits to Condobolin (this is flexible). Lachlan Shire & Penrith City Councils work together in a friendship agreement to support this exciting opportunity. The primary purpose of the position is to ensure compliance with regulations regarding governance, risk & audit. Areas of responsibility include: contributing toward maintenance of risk registers; development of policies & procedures; coordination of meetings of the Audit & Risk Improvement Committee, administration of property leases & licenses; ensuring Council meets its obligations under the GIPA & PPIP Acts. To be successful you will need tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent relevant industry experience. You must be a skilled communicator with sound IT & organisation skills. You will also need research skills & substantial knowledge of legislation relevant to the duties of the role. This position is available full-time but part-time or flexible hours will be considered for the right candidate. (The salary will be adjusted for part-time work).
