The Opportunity Come and discover the opportunity to join our Coke Plant 2 - Asset Development team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as an Mechanical Asset Improvement Coordinator . As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers. The Cokemaking process plays a crucial role in our manufacturing operations and serves as an initial stage in the Steel making process. As part of this process, we need to transport 40,000 tonnes of coal from our birth to the Coke plant ovens. Over time, this coal is then refined into Coke and serves as a key ingredient at the Blast Furnace. As a part of the Asset Development team, your role will entail a perfect blend of overseeing capital projects, leading maintenance improvements strategies, and reliability engineering. Therefore, you will be responsible for providing strategic maintenance direction for our mechanical equipment, you will be required to capture and analyse essential data to assist with problem solving, improvement, and strategy development of our Coke Plant assets. What Will You Do? You’ll provide technical guidance and drive the continuous improvement of the performance of our Coke plant assets. You’ll be responsible for: successfully leading and contributing to a safe working environment overseeing the development of inspections and prioritising maintenance activities and work orders based on plant condition and production risk. continually reviewing and implementing changes necessary in corrective and preventative maintenance strategy delivering continuous improvement initiatives through the capture and analysis of loss data developing, maintaining and improving the maintenance strategy and capital project plans to increase reliability and minimise cost. supervising maintenance activities, ensuring safety standards are never compromised champion reliability-based maintenance techniques (RCA, KT, 5 Step process) to provide solutions to complex mechanical problems, while also mentoring the team in these techniques More About You Ideally, you will have experience leading and coordinating trade and maintenance teams in a similar environment, and be open to developing yourself further to complete the roles requirements, therefore you will bring: mechanical background in either a trade qualification, diploma or degree. experience in plant process, equipment problem solving and reliability improvement experience or exposure to maintenance systems and reporting processes analytical experience in determining root cause of investigated failures and recommending corrective measures a demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop others to enhance capability an ability to influence peers and colleagues to meet operational requirements, scheduling and people demands the ability to learn and develop yourself with resources provided from the department Why BlueScope As BlueScope continues to go from strength to strength, a career with us provides you with the opportunity to grow and be rewarded.
