Thrive on the autonomy to regularly travel to Brisbane Head Office and projects sites Be able to demonstrate your resilience and persistence in an often-challenging environment Naturally be aligned to and live our Values Be Accountable Be Curious, Ask Questions, Listen Take Care Be Proactive, Problem Solve Be Authentic, Come As You Are Make It Happen Responsibilities Maintenance and functioning of the Company’s Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety systems ISO45001, ISO9001 and ISO14001 Drive continuous improvement in health and safety by assessing the effectiveness & efficiency of operations, initiating performance improvements, and sharing best practices / lessons learned Develop exceptional working relationships with key stakeholders to assist in the delivery of quality outcomes Develop, manage and monitor a competency-based training matrix for all employees and ensure compliance in conjunction with WHS requirements Drive and facilitate the accreditation process across new and existing applications for QLD and NSW Manage safety, environment & quality compliance across the Mettle businesses. Ensure the business complies with current health, safety, and environmental and quality legislation. Monitor, evaluate and review internal policies and practices ensuring they are consistent across the businesses. Make recommendations and implement changes to current policies and procedures as required. Manage and monitor a competency-based training matrix for all staff and ensure compliance in conjunction. Supporting workplace incidences Ensure that processes needed for the Quality component of the Safety, Environment and Quality Management System (SEQMS) are established, implemented and maintained Conduct periodic management review meetings Report to Executive Management on the performance of Mettle systems and any need for improvement Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organisation. The ability to develop Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Inspection Test Plans (ITPS) Performance will be assessed by observation, customer feedback, feedback from work colleagues and feedback from the management team. Assist in the application of WHS procedures and help manage risks and hazards. Skills & Experience Ten plus years in a similar role with formal qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety. Knowledge of Safety legislation and statutes, and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to Project. Detailed knowledge and experience of operating within ISO45001, ISO9001 and ISO14001 systems Demonstrated exposure to multi-disciplined projects as a HSEQ Manager or similar. Detailed knowledge and experience within Defence and government projects. Sound industrial relations knowledge The ability to work independently and to communicate clearly with clients, management team, office team members, colleagues and clients. Excellent abilities in priority setting and time management under pressure to achieve deadlines and commitments. Well-developed understanding in the interpretation of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation This role will be based in Sydney or Brisbane with the expectation to travel to other sites as required.
