Philanthropy Manager

ABOUT THE RBWH FOUNDATION There’s no greater generosity than that which saves a life. We are the charity for Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH), the Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS), Redcliffe Hospital and many of the prestigious research Institutes and Centres at the Herston Health Precinct, helping to fund life-saving research and advances in patient care. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Philanthropy Manager plays a vital role in securing substantial philanthropic income for the RBWH Foundation by cultivating relationships with HNW individuals, PAFs, family trusts, and foundations. Responsibilities include identifying and nurturing potential donors, collaborating with the Foundation team and hospital stakeholders, and driving fundraising efforts to achieve income targets. The role requires a proven track record in philanthropy, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for advancing healthcare initiatives through strategic fundraising. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 1. Donor cultivation and engagement 2. Prospect research and identification 3. Donor recognition and stewardship 4. Data management and reporting QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline area (Business, Nonprofit Management, Communications, etc) or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and/or experience. Proven track record in major and principal gift fundraising including sourcing, developing, and maintaining relationships nationally and internationally. KEY COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES A commitment to the RBWH Foundation’s purpose and values. Demonstrated skills in strategic planning and campaign evaluation with the ability to review performance against objectives. Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunity and build strong and beneficial relationships and partnerships to meet income targets. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills including the interpretation of policy, compliance, and regulatory documents with an ability to balance the requirements of these with organisational objectives. Team player with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating respect for sensitivity and confidentiality of issues handled. Demonstrated high-level written communication skills to lead preparation of proposals, applications, agreements, reports, acquittals, presentations, and correspondence. Strong project management abilities, with a proven ability to systematically track and manage partnerships end-to-end focusing on detail and deadlines. Familiarity and confidence with CRM systems and fundraising software.
