Product Specialist III - Single-Use Technology

Position Summary: The Product Specialist III - Single-Use Technology will ensure optimal utilisation of appropriate technical field support, products and services within biopharmaceutical companies' bioprocessing manufacture processes (i.e. design and development, optimization and scale-up, installation and validation). The Product Specialist III - Single-Use Technology will cooperate with commercial sales team in Australia on our endeavour to satisfy our customers and drive growth of SUT business. In addition, the Product Specialist III - Single-Use Technology will contribute coordinated technical activity in the Asia Pacific region in order that we deliver on our corporate commitments and our customers achieve their critical success factors in terms of meeting their business goals. Key Responsibilities: - Serving as the primary field-based technical interface for our Single-Use products & technologies to potential and existing clients. - Repairing, assembling, modifying, calibrating, and testing of Bioprocess equipment and automation system in terms of product troubleshooting and complaint handling activities. - Providing consultation for drawing, plan of SUT product portfolio to internal and external partners including third party engineering and architecture agency. - Self-initiated and/or in collaboration with in-country BioProduction Account Managers to perform prospecting & technical consultative selling activities. - Providing and delivering high calibre technical presentations to complement the sales teams' commercial sales activities. - Taking the lead in technical product specification and application discussions with clients and prospects for our SUT portfolio. - Supporting demonstration plans on customer's R&D and production facility. - Assisting commercial teams with customer surveys, inquiries, and product briefs, collaborating, and making recommendations to clients on potential process improvements through utilisation of our technologies and concepts. - Either directly or collaboratively with Field Application Specialist (FAS), Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) and/or Field Service Engineer (FSE), provide comprehensive support and service for equipment installation and start-up as well as full installation and operational qualification (IQ/OQ) support and documentation. - Inspecting designs and products according to User Requirements Specification (URS) Assisting Service Engineer and/or Quality Engineer for collecting data and performing test of SUT equipment, automation system and SUT flexible solution. - Together with the Sr Manager, Product Specialists, assisting Regional Marketing Management, Regional FAS management and Global TSS management to execute training activities and workshops on the application and capabilities of our products. - Coordinating schedule and program on pre-sales and post-sales activities of engineering technologist. - Providing necessary data and feedback to Sales Support, Product Management, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and R&D as appropriate. - Supporting in all aspects of qualification/validation studies and programs initiated with our clients for our Bioprocess equipment and automation product portfolio. - Providing necessary voice of the customer (VOC) to marketing management and product management for our products and services. - Being aware of relevant professional organization activities, and participate in meetings as a delegate, speaker, or contributor to the society. - Promoting the Employer's image and product reputation. Frequent Contacts: Internal - Field Application Specialist (FAS). - Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) and/or Field Service Engineer (FSE). - Regional Marketing Management. - Regional FAS management. - Global TSS management. - Sales Support, Product Management, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and R&D. - BioProduction Account Manager. External - Customers. - Vendors. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Qualifications & Experience - Advanced Diploma or Diploma or higher in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Process control, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or related field. - Excellent understanding of both upstream and downstream processes in the BioProduction workflow. - Experience with process control platforms & automation networks, bioreactors, fermenters, mixers & sensors. - Familiarity with GMP regulations and process engineering would be of significant benefit. - Ten (10) years minimum experience of technician or service engineer in a related industry, the bioprocess industry preferred. - Demonstrated ability to be effective in a globally matrixed organisation. - Able to work independently with limited day-to-day management supervision. - Frequent Travel will be required up to 50%. - Exceptional oral and written communication skills being well versed in trouble shooting and value selling techniques. - Knowledge of how to handle sales opportunities with complex and lengthy sales cycles. - Ability to multi-task with an attention to detail. - Must have strong customer service and relationship building skills within industrial marketplaces. - Well versed in Word, Excel, and PPT at a minimum. Skills & Attributes - Understanding electrical drawings, diagrams and planning of electrical installations and circuitry. - Inspecting design and wiring for compliance with specifications and regulations independently. - Figuring out data link between Bioprocess equipment and control system, even SCADA. - Understanding of control systems and the differences between DCS and PLC control strategies. - Collecting data, from Control systems and/or SCADA. - Performing tests and calculations, graphing results, and preparing charts and tabulations. - Interpreting data from Single-Use bioreactors, fermenters & mixing vessels and helping to understand customer's process. - Understanding of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) processes and to support SAT/FAT events for customers in assigned district and Asia Pacific region. - Supporting core Bioprocess Equipment and Automation product lines and new product development activities for upstream processing. - Giving technical presentations on the features and benefits of our products, in both a small and large audience setting. Lead technical discussions on bioreactor & fermenter applications and position Thermo Fisher Scientific capabilities.
