Senior Quality Surveyor

Challenge yourself to lead the delivery of NDT (non destructive testing) services to the organisation. Act as a safety leader and play an integral role in ensuring our aircraft are complaint and approved to fly in a safe manner. Permanent full-time position based in our Sydney Hangars with opportunities to travel between our ports. The Senior Quality Surveyor, is a critical role in our maintenance support services. Responsible for leading safety within Group People, you will be an expert in NDT inspections, understanding and applying the requirement of the Qantas Policy manual in respect to the Corporate and Divisional Service Standards. With excellent accuracy and attention to detail you will safeguard own health and safety and that of others. Proactively managing risks, reporting all incidents and hazards and ensuring investigations are undertaken and controls implemented. As the Senior Quality Surveyor, you will be a thoroughly dependable and reliable self-starter with a commitment to safety and quality. You'll have - Significant experience in aircraft maintenance preferably in the structures, engine, or airframe disciplines. Relevant qualifications in accordance with EN4179 to perform NDT inspections. Demonstrated ability to proactively manage risks to health or safety by conducting regular safety observations, inspections, reporting and managing all identified issues. Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to solve complex analytical problems and a strategic approach. Excellent accuracy and attention to detail skills with the ability to work well with minimal supervision. Strong team player, with an interest in supporting and developing others. Ability to effectively prioritise tasks to ensure jobs can be done in a safe and timely manner. Level 2 NDT Aerospace Qualification along with an understanding of Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) specifically in aircraft composite structures is highly desirable. Why Qantas?
